Jon Freda

Jon Freda was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in an Italian-American family. He served as a naval officer and attended academic doctoral programs in New York and Canada. As an actor, Jon's performances range from the comedy hit TV/web series, 50 To Death, to his critically noticed dramatic portrayal of Rocco in the film, The Family. He received the Outstanding Actor Award for The Cannes Film Festival entrant, Sisyphus' Supper, and published accolades for his portrayal of Jimmy Durante in his Off-Broadway solo show, Imagine DatI, which he wrote in cooperation with the Durante Estate. Jon is also an accomplished screenwriter and playwright, receiving three awards for his feature script ,Say Nothing, from the Guild of Italian American Actors; and four awards for his musical comedy stage play, Alien Adventure The Adventure, from the Midtown International Theater Festival in New York. Jon enjoys swimming, walking his dog in the park, creating digital art because he does not like the clean up, and hopes to learn to speak Italian better before his next visit to Rome.
