Joshua de Vera

Joshua de Vera is a student filmmaker from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines who has worked as a director, assistant director, and producer on various student films. He is the current president of the university’s film organization, Film Aficionados Circle. He delves into the themes of queer love and yearning with his directorial debut, "please, remember this night," which includes notable screenings at international festivals in Edo State and Brazil, along with a nationwide screening at SineSinta by the FDCP. Passionate about coming-of-age and queer narratives, he founded SBSG Pictures, producing the film "Saan Ako Pinaglihi?" bagging Audience Choice Award at the Cinepanalo Film Festival. He is also a co-producer for "Iskaran," a project in story development under the Climate Story Lab of the British Council and Active Vista. Joshua's skills extend to organizing and curating film exhibitions, as demonstrated by the success of the Yearnfest Film Night.
